Korean Pastors Prayed For Hydis Workers And Warned Yong Feng Yu Corporation About God's Justice
Reported by Chiu Kuo-rong
Praying for the laid off workers of Hydis factory, which was an overseas electronics TFT LCD factory of Yong Feng Yu(YFY) Corporation invested in Korea, 19 members of Korean Christian Action Organization(KCAO) held a prayer meeting before YFY's Taipei headquarter in the afternoon on March 8. Except comforting and praying for those laid off Hydis workers, Rev Jin Kwang-Soo, managing director of KCAO, also warned YFY Corporation should listen to the vocie of God and treat those laid off Hydis workers with justice.
Hydis workers had came to Taiwan several times, protesting YFY's illegal shut down of the Korean factory in 2015 and asking for a direct negotiation with YFY's management, yet without any concrete results. This international labor protest got even more radical, when Mr Pei Zai-jon, as one of Hydis labor leaders, committed suicide for his decision during negotiation with YFY in May 2015.
During his sermon before YFY's headquarter, Rev Jin Kwang-Soo advised the assembly that Christians should take to the streets, as "the heart of God is in the street". Quoting Proverbs 1:20 -23, "Wisdom cries out in the street; in the squares she raises her voice...", and a Korean old saying that nothing good would happen if the will of God is betrayed, Rev Jin Kwang-Soo warned the ending of YFY Corporation would not be good just like the recent persecution of forme Korean President Park Geun-hye.
